R I V E R S - T U R N

It’d be cliche to write about a river and its relation to our lives. I suppose the angle here is what happens when the one that’s supplying your life changes its course, flowing you ever so further from your desired destination.

The question is: “what do I do my the river I’m on makes its turn? Do I follow its current?”

Rivers punish the freelancer. Not violently.
They simply change direction and wait to see who mistakes natural change as something rooted in negativity.

The dangerous thing about rivers is how calm they look while taking you somewhere you never agreed to go… especially if you never planned accordingly. How often has life asked for your permission?

Eventually you become the kind of person who calls drifting freedom because it hurts less than calling it failure.
Maybe when it turns you swim to shore as the river keeps moving.

I reckon the land feels much safer than the current and its unpredictable turns, directions, and depth.

The only issue with that is that the next turn could be that although you feel safe on land… your purpose could be around the bend.

It wasn’t you who you left on shore. It was you that abandoned

you.
